Kickstart your career in global shipping and trading as a Chartering Trainee

Our 12-month Commercial Trainee Programme is designed for ambitious individuals who want to build a career in shipping and trading. From day one, you will be part of a Commercial Team, learning vessel operations before moving into chartering. By the end of the programme, you will be considered for a position as Junior Chartering Manager in Oslo or one of our global offices. Most of our commercial team leaders, as well as our CEO, started their shipping career as Chartering Trainees.

What you will be doing

• Learn the economics of voyages and how to instruct vessels
• Source and execute vessel and cargo contracts 
• Develop and grow trade strategies
• Build and maintain customer releationships
• Develop and maintain new business

What we are looking for

• 1-2 years’ work experience, preferably in sales, trading, or broking
• Bachelor´s degree (exceptional sales/trading results can compensate for lack of degree)
• Passion for shipping, trading and developing business
• Relentless drive to deliver profitable results
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Excellent communication skills in English (other languages are an advantage)
• Analytical, good with numbers, and comfortable using digital tools
• Resilient, proactive, and goal-oriented
• Self-driven and with the ability to work independently and proactively
