North Atlantic
The North Atlantic team is a merger of the former Black Sea / Mediterranean team, the Continent team and the US Gulf team. The North Atlantic team’s main activities are transport of various steel and bulk cargoes from Black Sea and the Mediterranean, the Continent and the Baltics worldwide, and serving the US Gulf/US East Coast/North Coast South America area. The North Atlantic team is managed out of the Oslo office and has representatives in the US.
South Atlantic
The South Atlantic team serves clients loading and / or discharging cargo on the West and East Coast of South America and West Coast Africa. Cargoes are carried on a trusted base of ships from our core owners and include both spot movements and industrial multi-year contracts. The team aims to build on growing volumes with our industrial clients, provide personal service and attention on operational issues, and place the Group at the forefront of future trade opportunities. The South Atlantic team is managed out of the Oslo office with representatives in Chile.
Indian Ocean
Through its significant customer base, the Indian Ocean commercial team is active in most dry bulk commodities and services clients on spot, short to medium term as well as on long industrial contracts. The commercial team also runs extensive parceling operations within Asia on various bulk and breakbulk commodities. The Indian Ocean team is managed out of the Singapore and Dubai offices.
Pacific / US West Coast
The size and diversity of the Pacific basin demands that the Pacific / US West Coast portfolio is not just active in the more established core trades but also in niche cargo flows throughout the region. The team is considered a specialist in slag, fertilizer, clinker, coal, steel products, grains, iron ore and pet-coke. The substantial intra and cross basin trades in the region necessitate the Pacific portfolio to work closely with all the other commercial teams. The Pacific / US West Coast team is run out of the Singapore and Seattle offices.
Panamax
The Panamax team supports industrial players in their supply chains by providing timely and reliable service. Our clients in the Panamax segment are primarily involved in iron ore, coal, bauxite, grains and fertilisers. The Panamax team is managed out of the Dubai office and started operations in September 2022.
US Gulf
The US Gulf team serves the US Gulf/US East Coast/North Coast South America area, helping a broad base of clients with diverse ocean transportation needs, ranging from industrial customers to traders and buyers of several commodities. The US Gulf team is managed out of the Santiago office and has representatives in the US, Oslo and Dubai.
Lumber & Projects
The Lumber & Projects desk was appointed in May 2026. The team has extensive hands-on experience within lumber, project and breakbulk cargoes, further strengthening Western Bulk’s ability to serve customers. The team combines strong commercial judgement with deep expertise in complex cargo execution. Lumber & Projects team is managed out of the Bergen, Norway office.
Steel Parcelling
The Steel Parcelling desk was appointed in May 2026, an experienced team with strong track records and networks within steel parcelling and related cargo segments in Atlantic. The new desk builds on Western Bulk’s existing parcelling capabilities across operations, support and chartering, completing the platform required to re-engage in a segment where the company has historically held a strong position. The Steel Parcelling team is managed out of the Antwerpen, Belgium office.
Operations Oslo
Western Bulk operations consists of two teams based in the Oslo office and the Singapore office respectively. The Oslo Operations team performs operation for the North Atlantic, South Atlantic, US Gulf and Panamax commercial teams.
Operations Singapore
Western Bulk operations consists of two teams based in the Oslo office and the Singapore office respectively. The Singapore Operations team performs operation for the Indian Ocean and Pacific/US West Coast commercial teams.
